Come Walk with the Authors on Walk #4 of 17: The Presidio to golden Gate Bridge. Authors Kristine Poggioli & Carolyn Eidson are leading all 17 walks from their new hit book, “Walking San Francisco’s 49 Mile Scenic Drive.” Space is limited to 12 people so that participants can get to know each other and the authors along the 2- to 3-hour guided walks.
Sunday, April we will be walking a segment of SF’s historic scenic loop that visitors just love. Walk #4 begins where San Francisco began—at the Presidio. You’ll be surprised at what is in here: Yoda, an original earthquake shack, the City’s oldest adobe building, Buffalo Soldiers’ barracks, pet cemetery, a jaw-dropping City—and the Golden Gate Bridge!
It’s a gradual 2.5 mile uphill walk (3 out of 5 hill steepness rating). The optional 2.5 mile loop-back-walk begins with a VERY steep downhill section, then crosses Crissy Field. GORGEOUS! As always: Optional Muni ride back to the start is available to participants at the half-way point (bring $2.25).
The authors will share stories from the book along the way. We suggest you wear layers, a hat, and bring water.
LIMIT 12 WALKERS
BONUS: Ticket amount of $10 deducted from onsite book purchases
