Come Walk with the Authors on Walk #6 of 17: Lands End, Sutro Baths, Cliff House. Authors Kristine Poggioli & Carolyn Eidson are leading all 17 walks from their new guide book, “Walking San Francisco’s 49 Mile Scenic Drive.” Space is limited to 12 people so that participants can get to know each other and the authors along the 2- to 3-hour guided walks.
Saturday, May 13 we hike along the City’s Lands End—where San Franciscans have been coming to play since the 1860s. We begin at the Legion of Honor, then wind our way down to the Sutro Bath Ruins, Cliff House, Seal Rock, and end at Ocean Beach on the former site of Playland at the Beach. This walk includes a steep downhill section.
The walk-back includes a steep stairway up the back of Sutro Park. OR, take a short bus ride, then walk back past the charming shops along Balboa Street. Or, as always, you can hop on Muni to ride back to the start (bring $2.25), or head off on your own adventure at the end of the main walk.
The authors will share stories from the book along the way. We suggest you wear layers, a hat, and bring water.
LIMIT 12 WALKERS
BONUS: Ticket amount of $10 deducted from onsite book purchases
